Body Like Beyonce ?

Beyonce's Workout & Diet
It takes Discipline, Determination, & Consistency

I have to admit, I'm into Beyonce and watching her music videos is a serious guilty pleasure. This new video "Why Don't You Love Me" by Beyonce is my new fav. She has one of the most incredible figures in the entertainment industry. I do not want to provide an unattainable ideal of what a woman should look like, but rather provide an exercise routine that is pretty intense that will get you results. Only for the motivated, something to start with that packs a lot of variety. That being said, here is what she is doing to stay in shape...

“I workout five times a week. I get up in the morning at around 8.30. I eat my cereal and I let it digest, then I do cardio for half an hour, followed by free weights for about 45 minutes.”

Let's be realistic here, by following this regimen you probably aren't going to look exactly like B. You would have had to won a genetic lottery to look like that creature. Regardless, you will definitely feel more fit within 3 weeks, 100% guarantee. Ease into it, with an easy-moderate intensity or start off with half of the prescribed amount of activity if you haven't been hittin the gym lately.
  • Running - which can be replaced with cycling if you have bad knees for 30 mins - 5 days per week
  • Free weights & Calisthenics for 45 minutes after cardio
    • 100 squats, 100 walking lunges, and 100 step-ups (break into 5 sets of 20 with 60-90 seconds between sets)
    •  For upper body she will lift 5-8 lbs weights (i.e. bicep curls, bench press, tricep pull-backs, military press). Or she will run around the track using 3-pound weights.
  • Once a week, she takes a yoga class for strength conditioning and toning (try power flow or hot yoga)
  • Factor in all of the dancing and performing she does for concerts and rehearsals which you can supplement with any regular physical activity
Beyonce's Diet
Obviously Beyonce has a personal nutritionist to handle her long-term weight management program so don't take this too literally. She generally avoids red meat, bread, and alcohol. She eats plenty of vegetables each day and describes her overall diet as low fat, low carb, and low calorie. She eats 6 times a day, which is good for keeping your metabolism up and helps to avoid over-eating. I would guess this diet alots for 1500 calories per day, but if you are keeping up with the fitness program don't worry about being so strict on the diet tip.
Sample Day:
For breakfast she eats Special K cereal or granola bar in the morning. Her 2nd meal is a piece of fruit. Her third meal, which is lunch, is a healthy salad which contains chicken breast, vinegar, oil, jalapeno's, greens, avocado, and tomatoes. Her fourth meal a package of oreo cookies. Her fifth meal is usually baked fish and vegetables. Her sixth meal is a snack with vegetables or cucumbers dipped in vinaigrette. Beyonce splurges once a week eating pizza or something she likes to satisfy her food cravings, call it a cheat day.
